Derrick Thomas was a fierce pass rusher who became an instant fan favorite when he joined the Chiefs in 1989. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro, and the 1989 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He set the single-season sack record in 1990 with a whopping 20 sacks and is the Chiefs’ all-time leader in sacks with 126.5. His career was tragically cut short when he passed away in 2000 due to complications from a car accident.Will Shields was a model of consistency and reliability. He was drafted by the Chiefs in 1993 and went on to play 14 seasons with the team. During that time, he was selected to 12 Pro Bowls and was named All-Pro seven times. He was also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2000s. He retired in 2006 as the Chiefs’ all-time leader in games played with 224. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
